About The Position

This is one temporary, hourly-intermittent student assistant position in Geography. The position is available on or after November 16, 2026, and ends on or before May 31, 2027. Reappointment may be possible depending on budget, department needs, and job performance.

The student assistant will collaborate with team members, add data layers to an online ArcGIS map, update and maintain existing datasets—including their metadata—and design and customize an online mapping interface using ArcGIS/ESRI applications. Other duties may be assigned.

The hourly rate is $18.50. Applicants must submit a completed Stanislaus State online employment application, a cover letter, and a résumé. Applications are accepted electronically only, and the application must be completed in full. The position is open until filled.

Requirements

• Undergraduate students must be registered or enrolled in at least six Fall/Spring units.
• Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in at least four Fall/Spring units.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of GEOG 4750 Intro to GIS, or equivalent course(s).
• Familiarity and comfort working with computers.
• Experience using the ArcGIS/ESRI suite of products.
• Experience with MS Office products.

Responsibilities

• Meet and collaborate with fellow team members.
