About The Position

USask Career Services is a vital resource for students and alumni, focusing on career development, employer relations, and experiential learning. We foster an innovative, engaging, and supportive work environment. Our team is passionate about guiding students and alumni through their career journeys, offering services like job postings, networking events, resume and cover-letter assistance, mock interviews, and career coaching. Appointments can be attended in-person or virtually. We are seeking a casual Graduate Career Peer Educator (CPE) to join our team at Career Services, starting September 1, 2026, with potential for training in August. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in career development, employer relations, and experiential learning, with a desire to engage with students, alumni, employers, and campus faculty/staff. A comprehensive training program will be provided to ensure success in this role.

Requirements

  • Current USask graduate student entering/returning to study in the 2026 & 2027 academic years. Priority given to newly admitted students who will be enrolled for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Experience and/or a strong interest in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven teamwork and leadership abilities.
  • Strong skillsets in grammar and writing.
  • Competency with technology and software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AI) and virtual platforms including Zoom.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to students with facilitation experience.
  • Preference will be given to students with industry work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Career Readiness workshops and presentations on campus.
  • Assist and support students and alumni by delivering career services appointments and regular programming.
  • Lead programming for reviewing graduate student job documents.
  • Provide weekly support to Career Services staff in creating social media content and career readiness videos.
  • Assist and participate in Career Centre events such as Career Fairs and Employer Campus Events.
  • Provide support with appointments, resource inventory management, and reception duties.
  • Act as a Graduate Career Peer Educator ambassador at promotional events.
  • Assist the Career Educator in developing CPE resources and scheduling.
  • Provide occasional front reception staff coverage for administrative duties, including handling inquiries, taking payments, and scheduling.
  • Provide occasional support for CGPS career-related events.
