About The Position

This position is for a Student Assistant, specifically for Federal Work Study recipients. The role involves hands-on laboratory work, assisting lab members with vital procedures such as genotyping by polymerase chain reaction, protein detection assays (western blots and immunofluorescence), histology, and microscopy. Additionally, the assistant will contribute to lab organization and operations, including maintaining clean and organized lab areas, managing ordering and supply inventories, maintaining a mouse colony, and updating spreadsheets and lab documents.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required

Must be a University of Florida degree-seeking student registered at least half-time
Must be eligible to work on campus
Must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
A current Federal Work Study award is required
