About The Position

This is a student position responsible for driving a university vehicle to off-campus locations. The role involves transporting individuals and/or materials as assigned. The position requires close supervision with minimal latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Requirements

• Must have (or be able to obtain) a University Driving Permit.
• SFA Driving Permit and Van Certification required.
• Must be enrolled in the lab class for which you will be driving.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws concerning over-the-road vehicle operation.
• Ability to accurately maintain records and files.
• Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to operate vehicles safely.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, university and college policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, basic vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operates university vehicle to/from off-campus locations as instructed.
• Transports individuals and/or materials as assigned.
• Responsible for the safety of passengers and university vehicles.
• Abides by all state and federal laws concerning over-the-road vehicles.
• Maintains mileage log.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
