About The Position

The Student Assistant supports the mission and goals of the Alabama Digital Humanities Center (ADHC) by assisting with various digital activities on campus at The University of Alabama. Assists in producing web content, teaching workshops, supporting various digital projects hosted by the ADHC and the ADHC's annual Digitorium Conference.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student at The University of Alabama
  • Basic coding experience with one or more of the following Python, R, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience creating digital learning objects
  • Experience creating web content
  • Experience performing basic computational and web development coding tasks
  • Experience assisting with workshops on basic Digital Humanities topics
  • Experience with applications such as Adobe Premiere consultations
  • Experience with teaching
  • Must meet enrollment requirements to be eligible for on-campus student employment
  • Must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters.
  • Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment.
