About The Position

Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, provides administrative support for academic student affairs. Provides detailed information on policies and academic regulations. Verifies, processes and approves documents related to registration, graduation and submission of grades. Coordinates activities related to examinations/assessments, registration and graduation. Advises students and resolves problems in relation to their file. Produces and coordinates distribution of documents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general student support via daily drop-in hours in-person and online, respond to student inquiries received via the SAO’s resource accounts and assist with the creation and distribution of student letters.
  • Monitor assignment submissions (Term Essays, final assessments) and follow up with students missing work worth 25% or more via SAO email or myCourses.
  • Facilitate Term Essay and Group Assistant application processes, ensuring timely communication and tracking.
  • Prepare grading sheets and distribute them to instructors to support the grading process.
  • Track extension requests and notify instructors of approved extensions.
  • Support course building, including regular data entry in DCU and Banner applications, assisting with Fall/Winter timetable preparation, and facilitating Mercury course evaluations.
  • Build courses in Banner and assign rooms as needed throughout the academic year.
  • Assist with student registration, including issuing permits, processing individual course/program changes, and supporting registration in special courses such as Term Essays, Group Assistant (GA) opportunities, and Clinical Legal Education (CLE) offerings.
  • Review and save course outlines/descriptions submitted by instructors.
  • Prepare the Method of Evaluation spreadsheet and flag any policy concerns to the Associate Dean.
