About The Position

This position involves accompanying musical ensembles or individuals within the Department of Music. The role requires the accompanist to practice assigned musical selections independently, assist directors and instructors by maintaining tempo and supporting musical instruction, and participate in various musical activities such as rehearsals, concerts, auditions, and competitions.   • Ability to pass an audition with a designated music faculty
  • Have strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Accompany choir, ensembles, soloists, and/or musical theater rehearsals and performances as assigned.
  • Independently practice and become proficient in assigned musical selections prior to rehearsals and performances.
  • Assist directors and instructors by following rehearsal direction, maintaining tempo, and supporting musical instruction.
  • Participate in required rehearsals, concerts, auditions, competitions, and other music programs activities.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
