About The Position

The Structures Technician will complete in-class training and on-the-job training in aircraft structures. This will include items listed in the AerSale MRO FAA Approved training program specifically the OJT portion. This includes understanding of various types of aircraft sealant and appropriate method application for sealant as well as aircraft fasteners and basic methods of installation and suitable substitutions. Fabricating parts is required and have knowledge of metal and alloys and where substitutes may be used. Layout and perform complex structural repairs that are addressed in the repair manuals and engineering documents. Removal and installation of parts and components, repairs to the applicable FAA approved or accepted technical data. Data includes Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Engineering Orders, AD’s, Service Bulletins, Customers GMM etc. Based on prior experience will have less oversight from the trainers and have more ability to work under the supervision of his Lead. In some cases, the Lead is also a designated trainer.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Prior aircraft structures experience may be required.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of experience required.
  • Mechanical skills and abilities, critical thinking, and organized.
  • Ability to operate safely all ground support equipment, (i.e., Main Lifts, Scissor Lifts, etc.) and possess the Company operating certification.
  • Able to perform hot bond repairs with Heatcon hot bonders
  • Able to do metal prep and metal bonds on wing with hot bonders
  • Able to co composite material hot bonds with hot bonders
  • Experience with wet layups
  • Proficiency with reading and understanding manual references for assigned jobs
  • May be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, crawl, work in tight spaces and handle objects.
  • Occasionally required to push/pull, stack, reach above shoulder level or carry light-weight materials up to 50 lbs.
  • May be required to use chemicals in maintenance process.

Nice To Haves

  • May not be required based on experience level.
  • Technician may be able to work independently using the QC process to verify work performed.
  • May be required to obtain a Repairman’s Certificate, A, or A&P Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Following directions from Trainer or Designated trainer in regards on the job tasks.
  • Performing all work assigned in accordance with approved FAA data.
  • Ensuring complete and proper documentation of work performed.
  • Ensuring that all structures maintenance performed is in an airworthy condition.
  • Maintaining the premises of the Repair Station in a clean and organized manner.
  • Completing OJT forms and turning them into the training department daily.
  • Performing additional duties as requested by his / her immediate supervisor or other management personnel.
