Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA Airframe certificate, Repairman certificate or eighteen (18) months of on-the-job training
  • Skill Rating 1
  • Must provide own tools as required on company tool list.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English language.
  • Must be able to read and understand structural repair manual and basic technical data.
  • Understanding of corrosion removal best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of safety equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of precision measurement tooling and use of relevant hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate with and assist Aircraft Engineers in developing repair solutions and modifications for transport aircraft.
  • Accomplish non-complex jobs with moderate supervision and more complex jobs under direct supervision.
  • Accomplish basic standard SRM repairs.
  • Assist qualified mechanic with more complex repairs.
  • Able to work independently on small tasks as assigned.
  • Inspect, overhaul, repair, modify and troubleshoot airframe parts.
  • Refers to technical drawings and written instructions to accomplish specific tasks as needed.
  • Follows company protocols to maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization within the hangar or workshop. This also applies to the usage/operation of GSE equipment.
  • Responsible for attaching parts tags to repairable, serviceable, or condemned parts.
  • Perform work within estimated hours.
  • Execute all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties.
  • Interface effectively with members of management, other departments and coworkers.
  • Perform other work as instructed by the Structures Lead Mechanic or Maintenance Supervisor.
