Structures Intern (Summer 2027)(Onsite)

RTX•East Hartford, CT
•Onsite

About The Position

The Structures Intern will join the Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) structures team at Pratt & Whitney and perform structural analyses of mechanical systems and externals hardware on commercial engine programs. The hardware includes bearing supports, bearing centering springs, spacers, shafts, bearings, seals, gearboxes, oil tanks, fan drive gear systems, tubes, brackets, nozzles, mounts, and ducts. The intern will support finite element analyses, use Pratt & Whitney tools for life estimations, document analysis results for structures reviews, participate in multidisciplinary integrated product teams, and present analysis findings. The work spans product development from concept initiation through design, testing and validation, certification, and post-certification. The intern will also provide test support during rig and engine validation, monitor instrumentation, analyze test data, and help confirm test objectives are met. The internship offers challenging, meaningful projects intended to help interns understand the aerospace industry, Pratt & Whitney, and its operations. The role is onsite in East Hartford, Connecticut, and requires U.S. citizenship because access to information under the program or contract is restricted to U.S. citizens.
