About The Position

Raytheon has an exciting opportunity for an FPGA Engineering Intern to join the Multi Product Power & Digital Team within the Electrical Engineering organization. Electrical Engineering drives business success by providing a variety of critical engineering tasks across Raytheon product lines and functions.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session
  • Experience with VHDL or Verilog programming
  • Experience with FPGAs, microprocessors, or other programmable logic devices
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), or Microchip FPGAs
  • Experience with Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), or Microchip design tools and development environments
  • Hands on experience with integration and test of digital systems, including the use of test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including: Xilinx (AMD), Altera (Intel), and Microchip
  • Implement designs using VHDL for the following applications: gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) interfaces, DSP algorithms, control logic, data links, and/or embedded processing.
  • Work with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements, collaboratively model algorithms, partition and perform code development, simulation, and implementation
  • Verify designs against requirements using both directed test and constrained random test methodologies
  • Provide design support from requirements definition through integration and test, including design documentation and configuration management
