About The Position

The foreman provides leadership, schedules, coordinates, supervises and ensures the productivity and safety of the work crew and the public. As a key participant in the relationship with the client, consultants and the company, the foreman acts as a management liaison and a client interface.

Requirements

Completion of secondary school is usually required.
Lead Hand or Acting Foreman experience for 3+ years.
5+ years of industry field experience.

Responsibilities

Promote a safe work culture and ensure the safety of the crew and the general public.
Know, understand, communicate, and ensure compliance with safety regulations (e.g., Health and Safety Act) and company safety policies and procedures.
Complete incident and other safety reports in a timely manner.
Lead the crew and be accountable for how the crew completes assigned work.
Communicate and assign individual tasks to crew members.
Set work standards and outline behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity.
Interact with other company supervisors, inspectors, and clients.
Follow project plans and schedules, ensuring the crew’s daily and weekly activities meet production goals.
Understand the work at hand, organize the workforce and equipment.
Discuss and plan proposed work with the manager/superintendent.
Complete administrative tasks as required.
Ensure completed work meets specifications.
Ensure proper techniques are utilized to achieve the highest possible workmanship and quality of work.
Inspect completed work and initiate timely resolutions if required.
Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to guide work (e.g., formwork, rebar installation, concrete pours, beam/girder placement, deck finishing, flat work finishing).
