About The Position

Pratt & Whitney’s Mechanical Systems, Externals & Nacelles (MSEN) group is seeking a Structures Engineer I to join its Engineering Development Program (EDP), a multiyear program for new college hires. The program accelerates technical capability through substantive work rotations in specific disciplines and connects participants with technical resources and engineering experts. Participants complete three rotations lasting 12, 9, and 9 months, typically across distinct disciplines within the hiring department. The first 2.5 years of the role are part of the EDP. The engineer performs structural analysis throughout the product development cycle, from concept initiation and design through testing, validation, certification, and post-certification. The role evaluates MSEN components using finite element analysis and classical methods, supports testing and field investigations, and works with design teams to balance structural, performance, weight, and producibility requirements. The position is onsite in East Hartford, Connecticut. U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program or contract; no security clearance is required.
