About The Position

Under supervision, the Structural Welder welds structural members using SMAW and/or FCAW procedures. The role includes planning, laying out, assembling, installing, and repairing structural members and related parts according to job specifications and plans. The welder uses appropriate hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, weld, and install structural steel, tests installed pieces, and completes related installation work. Welding must follow the governing code and applicable welding procedure specifications (WPS). The position also requires compliance with jobsite safety regulations and maintaining a safe, clean work area. Other job-related duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Ability to weld structural members using SMAW and/or FCAW procedures.
Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
Ability to visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
Ability to use appropriate hand and power tools for measuring, cutting, assembling, welding, and installing structural steel.
Ability to follow applicable codes, welding procedure specifications, safety regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities

Join structural members using SMAW and/or FCAW welding procedures.
Perform work safely and comply with LPR policies.
Plan, lay out, assemble, install, and/or repair structural members and related parts according to job specifications and plans.
Use appropriate hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, weld, and install structural steel pieces.
Test installed pieces and install related items according to applicable plans and specifications.
Weld components according to the governing code and associated welding procedure specification (WPS).
Follow established jobsite safety regulations and maintain a safe, clean work area.
Read and understand plans and specifications.
Visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
Perform other job-related duties as requested by the supervisor.
