About The Position

JPW Structural Contracting is seeking Structural Welders to work in its Syracuse, New York shop. Welders perform daily shop activities to meet the production schedule set by the Shop Foreman while maintaining a safe work environment and meeting quality standards. The role requires following company policies and working cooperatively with coworkers.

The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, either 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Optional Saturday work may be available, when applicable, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Starting wage depends on experience; the listed compensation range is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of welding experience.
• Familiarity with welding tools and procedures.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of layout.
• Familiarity with reading and understanding blueprints.
• Ability to handle physical workload.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate structural steel.
• Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
• Calculate material measurements to verify specifications.
• Receive instructions, prints, and work orders; plan work procedures, tools, and material requirements.
• Fabricate by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.
• Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded; set up, assemble, and tack weld parts.
• Keep equipment and the work area clean and orderly.
• Follow company policies and work cooperatively with coworkers.
• Meet the shop production schedule while maintaining safety and quality standards.
