About The Position
Whirlwind Steel is seeking an experienced Structural Welder to join its night shift team. The position welds structural steel components using Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), follows welding specifications, and meets AWS D1.1 quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current welding certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of structural welding experience.
- Experience with FCAW welding.
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings.
- Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with overhead cranes.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret shop details to determine specific welding requirements.
- Set up and adjust welding equipment according to specifications.
- Perform FCAW welding in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy.
- Operate overhead cranes and welding equipment safely.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Meet daily production and quality goals.
