About The Position

The position is located Fort Collins, CO, working in the Facilities Management Department. This position does not have formal supervisory authority. This full-time, nonexempt position will be supervised by Scott Michelena. Facilities Management oversees the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all academic, administrative, research, and campus infrastructure. Services include engineering, design, renovations, and maintenance of building structures, electrical and mechanical systems, fire protection, HVAC/R, plumbing, keyless access, door operators, custodial services, waste and recycling, landscaping, and paving. Operations also manages district energy and utility systems, and provides campus support for facility use and access. Facilities Management | Colorado State University. This position is in training to assist with a variety of trades duties which involves maintaining, installing, and replacing concrete, asphalt, regulatory signage, benches, seat walls, and fencing on outdoor campus areas. Maintaining motorized winches, electric motors, baskets, motorized bleachers within various sporting event venues. Also responsible for assisting with event support, hauling and moving lab equipment, disassembling and assembling equipment, snow removal, etc. Position is in training and will assist with the following: Assembles, installs, and maintains outdoor components such as tables, benches, stair treads, handrails, fencing, concrete structure walls including masonry and capstones. Fabricates and installs regulatory signage and plaques. Requires the knowledge of anchor systems and other devices for installation. Removes and replaces concrete and asphalt on streets, sidewalks, stairs, loading docks, etc. Including demolition, replacement, grinding, patchwork and safety assessments of these areas. Operates equipment for excavations, lab equipment moves, snow removal, street and sidewalk maintenance and repair utilizing jack hammers, dump trucks with plow and sander, forklift, high ranger, tool cat, skid steer, etc. Establishes customer contacts to estimate and schedule jobs, identifies and orders appropriate materials, manage work orders to perform these jobs. Performs snow and ice removal on walks, drives, streets and parking lots. Provides ADA and general access with types of heavy equipment, including plow trucks, sanders, loaders, and snow pushers, etc. Supports Athletic with sporting events such as football and basketball which includes working football and basketball games for a variety of support from setting trash cans to changing baskets during game time.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position OR A combination of one year of related education, formalized apprenticeship program and one year of full time related work experience.
  • Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires.)
  • Pre-employment Physical - extra heavy lifting.
  • Valid driver's license - Colorado regular – within one year class B CDL.
  • Essential Services Designation - Required to be on duty to perform essential and/or emergency services of the agency without delay or interruption.
  • Shift Work - Snow removal outside normal business hours. Special events.
  • On-call Status (for snow removal, emergencies)
  • In-person
