About The Position
The Fitter Fabricator independently performs layout, fitting, and fabrication activities requiring advanced blueprint interpretation and equipment operation. The role includes advanced welding, cutting, equipment operation, and dimensional verification, as well as assisting with training junior fabricators.
Requirements
- Proven fabrication experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to complete in-house AISC Layout & Fit-Up Training.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced layout and fit-up activities.
- Perform MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW welding.
- Weld in all positions to AWS D1.1 and D1.5 standards (1G, 2G, 3G, 6G).
- Perform advanced torch and plasma cutting operations.
- Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings.
- Independently operate hand saws, mag drills, and fabrication equipment.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Assist with training junior fabricators.
