About The Position

The Fitter Fabricator independently performs advanced structural steel layout, fitting, and fabrication work. The role requires interpreting complex fabrication drawings, operating fabrication equipment, and verifying dimensions and tolerances. The successful candidate will also assist with training junior fabricators and complete in-house AISC Layout & Fit-Up Training.

Requirements

• Proven fabrication experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to complete in-house AISC Layout & Fit-Up Training.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced layout and fit-up activities.
• Weld in all positions using MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW processes to AWS D1.1 and D1.5 standards (1G, 2G, 3G, 6G).
• Perform advanced torch and plasma cutting operations.
• Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings.
• Independently operate hand saws, mag drills, and fabrication equipment.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Assist with training junior fabricators.
