About The Position

Murphy’s Family Staffing is recruiting experienced structural steel fabricators, steel erectors, and ironworkers for a direct-hire, permanent, full-time position with an established construction and structural steel company in the Walnut Bottom, Pennsylvania area. This is not an entry-level, production-welding, temporary, temp-to-hire, or contract position. Candidates must have hands-on structural steel fabrication and/or erection experience and be willing to commute daily to the shop, generally within about 45 minutes. The role pays $25–$35 per hour depending on experience and skill level; the $35 rate is reserved for highly skilled candidates with approximately 10 or more years of structural steel experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a full-time, year-round opportunity. Work takes place in shop and field environments on commercial, industrial, and other construction projects. Requirements

At least 3 years of hands-on structural steel fabrication and/or erection experience is preferred; actual structural steel experience is required for consideration.
Experience fabricating or erecting structural steel beams, columns, frames, supports, or similar components.
Ability to read and interpret structural shop drawings and blueprints.
Experience using fabrication equipment, welding machines, cutting equipment, and hand and power tools.
Knowledge of structural steel construction, layout, measuring, and assembly.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to complete the required pre-employment physical and drug screening.
Must be willing to commute daily to the shop; candidates should live within a reasonable commute, approximately 45 minutes.
General welding, MIG welding, production welding, automotive welding, or manufacturing experience without structural steel fabrication or erection experience does not qualify.

Nice To Haves

Approximately 10 or more years of structural steel experience for consideration at the top rate of $35 per hour.

Responsibilities

Fabricate structural steel beams, columns, frames, RTU supports, and other structural components.
Read and interpret structural blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop drawings.
Measure, cut, drill, weld, fit, and assemble steel components to specifications.
Perform structural steel erection and installation at construction job sites.
Assist with rigging, positioning, aligning, and securing steel components.
Operate fabrication equipment, cranes, scissor lifts, forklifts, and other machinery when qualified and authorized.
Perform quality inspections to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
Work in shop and field environments on commercial, industrial, and other construction projects.
Follow OSHA and company safety procedures.
