About The Position
Yonkers Contracting Company is seeking a qualified Structural Steel Project Engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience. This role involves developing work plans, collaborating with design teams, providing engineering support during construction, and maintaining project documentation for heavy civil construction projects, particularly bridges and sign structures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Proven experience in structural steel work for heavy civil construction projects
- Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards.
- 5+ years of relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Develop specific work plans for erecting or demolishing structural steel bridges and sign structures.
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with structural design teams to ensure designs meet project specifications and requirements.
- Provide engineering support during the construction phase, addressing technical issues and resolving on-site issues related to structural steel fabrication and erection.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence.
- Ensure all project changes are documented and communicated effectively.
- Monitor project expenses and resource utilization.
