From designing high-performance systems for new institutional landmarks to conducting vital structural investigations on existing facilities, you will be a key player in delivering safe, innovative solutions to our communities. As a Structural Project Engineer at T&L, you will go beyond the calculations to lead the structural narrative of a project.

Requirements

Ideally 5–7+ years of dedicated experience as a Structural Project Engineer or structural designer within the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis (ABET-accredited).
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Tennessee, Virginia, or West Virginia is required, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states in the near future.
Proficient in design using Steel, Concrete, Wood, Masonry, PEMB, and Light Gauge Steel.
Experience estimating engineering effort and managing project scopes.

Responsibilities

Perform and provide direction for structural design, calculations, and system selection across a variety of building types.
Oversee the work of entry-level engineers and technicians, ensuring the production of high-quality design drawing packages.
Conduct site visits and forensic structural investigations for renovations and additions to assess existing conditions.
Interface with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated, on-budget project delivery.
Become proficient in utilizing the RISA suite of software and Enercalc to economize your designs and increase efficiency.
Generate construction specifications using CSI-based templates and handle contract administration, including RFIs and submittal reviews.
