Our Protective Design practice helps architects, owners, developers, and public agencies worldwide achieve security objectives while upholding each project’s aesthetic, functional and budgetary goals. As a Project Engineer in our Protective Design & Security Practice, you’ll take on a key technical role supporting the delivery of protective design solutions. You will own more complex analysis and coordination tasks, guide junior engineers, and contribute to integrating security and resilience strategies into project delivery. You’ll work across disciplines, contribute to project management, and begin stepping into more client-facing opportunities. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience with proficiency in analysis and modeling tools and growing experience in protective design or resilience-focused projects.
• Ability to solve complex problems, manage priorities, and communicate effectively across disciplines.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and refine protective design analyses, including blast effects, impact, and progressive collapse considerations.
• Develop and organize deliverables such as calculations, reports, and drawings, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with project goals and threat conditions.
• Coordinate proactively with architects, engineers, and security stakeholders to support integration of protective strategies into project designs.
• Review and provide feedback on junior staff work, supporting their technical development.
• Contribute to risk and vulnerability assessments and assist in translating findings into implementable design solutions.
• Grow your leadership skills by assisting with project management activities, contributing to proposals, and engaging in client-facing opportunities.
