Fletcher Technical Community College is seeking a Structural Fitting (Shipfitting) Instructor to join the Academic Affairs & Initiatives department, specifically within the Energy & Advanced Technologies sub-department. This is an unclassified, 12-month faculty appointment. The instructor will be responsible for teaching credit and non-credit courses in shipfitting and structural fitting, and potentially welding courses based on program needs. The role involves delivering practical, industry-aligned instruction, training students on safe equipment operation and shop practices, inspecting and evaluating fitting work, and developing course materials. The instructor will also be responsible for student support, including tutoring, advising, and mentoring, as well as connecting students with career opportunities. Maintaining shop equipment and instructional technology, and participating in college service activities are also key aspects of the position.
