Reporting directly to the President, you will serve as the engineering leader for the business, acting as Engineer-of-Record while guiding engineering strategy, mentoring technical staff, improving processes, and supporting continued growth across the organization. Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience
  • Experience acting as Engineer-of-Record
  • Experience reviewing and sealing structural engineering deliverables
  • Strong understanding of Canadian engineering standards and applicable design codes
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

  • Act as Engineer-of-Record for bridge and structural steel projects
  • Review, approve, and seal engineering deliverables
  • Establish engineering standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian engineering codes and standards
  • Provide technical leadership on complex and non-standard projects
  • Maintain professional practice requirements across applicable jurisdictions
  • Support constructability reviews and installation methodologies
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, EITs, designers, and drafters
  • Establish performance goals and development plans
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning initiatives
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Support professional development and P.Eng. mentorship activities
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Project teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Support project estimating, feasibility reviews, and value engineering initiatives
  • Review contract drawings and engineering deliverables
  • Provide technical support to owners, consultants, and contractors
  • Assist with site support, field problem-solving, and installation activities as required
  • Drive engineering excellence and product innovation
  • Support research and development initiatives
  • Improve engineering workflows, design standards, and document control practices
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, materials, and engineering methods
  • Analyze industry trends and competitor offerings to strengthen market position
