About The Position

Talon Hiring Solutions is partnering with a growing engineering and infrastructure organization to identify experienced Structural Engineering Leaders to support and lead the design, analysis, and execution of complex industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, utility, and mission-critical projects. This opportunity is ideal for accomplished structural engineers who thrive in both technical and leadership roles. We are seeking professionals with experience designing complex structural systems, leading multidisciplinary projects, mentoring engineering teams, and delivering innovative solutions throughout the full project lifecycle—from concept and design through construction and commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis) or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 8+ years of structural engineering experience, with consideration given to highly qualified senior and principal-level candidates possessing extensive leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, utility, commercial, mission-critical, or EPC-related projects.
  • Strong expertise in: Structural steel design, Reinforced concrete design, Foundation engineering, Structural dynamics, Wind and seismic analysis, Industrial facility design.
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes and engineering standards.
  • Experience using structural analysis and design software.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, mentor engineers, and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or required depending on experience level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering efforts for large-scale industrial, infrastructure, utility, manufacturing, commercial, and mission-critical projects.
  • Serve as a technical resource and engineering leader for multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Design and oversee the development of: Structural steel buildings and support structures, Reinforced concrete foundations and structures, Equipment foundations and support systems, Pipe racks and utility structures, Equipment platforms and access systems, Industrial facilities and site infrastructure.
  • Perform and review structural analyses related to: Gravity loading, Wind loading, Seismic forces, Thermal effects, Equipment loading, Transportation and constructability considerations.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, design criteria, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and construction teams.
  • Participate in project planning, design reviews, constructability evaluations, and technical risk assessments.
  • Review vendor drawings, equipment data, and technical submittals.
  • Support projects through planning, detailed design, procurement, construction, startup, and commissioning phases.
  • Respond to field issues, review design modifications, and support construction activities.
  • Conduct site visits, assessments, and engineering investigations as needed.
  • Mentor engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence and professional development.
  • Support engineering standards, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Senior-level candidates may participate in proposal support, project planning, staffing strategies, and technical leadership initiatives.
