About The Position

Talon Hiring Solutions is partnering with a leading engineering and infrastructure organization to identify experienced Mechanical Engineering Leaders to support and lead the design, analysis, and execution of complex industrial, manufacturing, utility, infrastructure, and mission-critical projects. This opportunity is ideal for accomplished mechanical engineers who thrive in both technical and leadership roles. We are seeking professionals with experience designing and integrating mechanical systems, leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts, mentoring technical teams, and delivering successful projects from concept through startup and commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with consideration given to highly qualified senior and principal-level candidates.
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, utility, infrastructure, mission-critical, energy, or EPC-related projects.
  • Strong expertise in: Thermodynamics, Fluid mechanics, Heat transfer, Rotating equipment, Mechanical equipment systems, Utility infrastructure, Industrial piping systems, Mechanical system integration.
  • Experience with engineering calculations, equipment specifications, procurement support, vendor coordination, and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency with: AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, mentor engineers, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • PE license preferred or required depending on experience level.
  • Experience with Plant 3D, Navisworks, pipe stress analysis software, or related engineering tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering efforts on large-scale industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, utility, and mission-critical projects.
  • Serve as a technical resource and engineering leader throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Develop and oversee: Equipment layouts and general arrangements, Mechanical specifications and data sheets, Utility and support systems, Industrial piping systems, Mechanical infrastructure designs, Procurement packages, Construction documentation.
  • Perform and review engineering calculations, system analyses, equipment evaluations, and technical studies.
  • Design and support systems involving: Rotating equipment, Cooling and fluid handling systems, Compressed air systems, Water and utility systems, HVAC systems, Process and facility support infrastructure.
  • Coordinate closely with civil, structural, electrical, controls, process, and construction teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability evaluations, risk assessments, and project planning activities.
  • Review vendor drawings, technical submittments, equipment selections, and procurement documentation.
  • Support projects through planning, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and commissioning phases.
  • Provide technical support during testing, troubleshooting, startup, and operational readiness activities.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, walkdowns, and field assessments.
  • Identify technical risks and implement practical engineering solutions.
  • Lead quality reviews and support the development of engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Mentor engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence and professional growth.
  • Senior-level candidates may support proposal efforts, business development initiatives, project planning, staffing strategy, and technical leadership programs.
