Structural Engineering Intern (Bridge) - Summer 2027
About The Position
RS&H is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineering Intern for its Dallas, Texas office for Summer 2027. Working as an entry-level associate with the St. Charles Highway Group, the intern will assist with developing studies, reports, and bridge construction plans. The position focuses on mastering technical work functions and developing professional discipline skills. Under direct supervision, the intern performs routine engineering assignments, compiles data, uses applied software and technology for engineering analysis, assists with reports, completes elementary design calculations, prepares quantity takeoffs and estimates, develops engineering plans using CADD, and observes construction projects in progress and after completion.
Requirements
- Working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- 0 to 4 years of bridge or structural design experience.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Previous internship experience.
- Experience or exposure to TXDOT plans preparation and design standards.
- Specific interest in transportation or roadway design.
- Prior internship or related experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist the St. Charles Highway Group with developing studies, reports, and bridge construction plans.
