About The Position

Parsons is accepting applications for its Summer 2027 Bridge Internship program with the Centreville, Virginia team. The intern will develop engineering technical skills and knowledge through direct mentorship and collaboration with infrastructure design experts, gaining experience and exposure to major regional projects. The position is part of the Critical Infrastructure team, which plans, designs, builds, and modernizes infrastructure in collaboration with company teams, partners, and customers.

Requirements

Complete prior coursework in transportation or structural engineering.
Be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
Have an interest in and ability to work on multiple bridge or roadway projects simultaneously.
Have strong oral and written communication skills.
Be proficient in MS Office tools and CAD software; MicroStation is preferred.
Have a solid understanding of industry standards and applicable engineering software.

Nice To Haves

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
Prior internship experience.

Responsibilities

Develop creative and innovative solutions to bridge engineering challenges and select efficient, cost-effective methods to achieve objectives.
Ensure designs comply with Federal, State, and local agency requirements and accepted industry practices and procedures.
Prepare specifications, estimates, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses.
Review supplier drawing submittals and conduct technical bid analyses.
Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
Contribute to a project or organizational team, or serve as a design engineer for intermediate to large-scale projects.
