About The Position
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer for immediate employment in Pittsburgh, PA to join our Class I Railroad Team. The role supports public improvement projects across western PA and nearby states.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be available to work in Pittsburgh, PA on a scheduled basis.
- Selected candidate must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous internship experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Review sponsor plans, contractor submissions, and calculations for Railroad impacts and constructability.
- Conduct 2-3 days/week of on-site monitoring for compliance with Railroad requirements.
- Coordinate with railroad personnel, sponsors, and contractors during design and construction phases.
- Maintain accurate project records, ensuring timely delivery of documentation while meeting quality standards.
- Respond proactively to client requests and input.
- Assist task leaders with administrative and financial tasks for a General Engineering Contract (GEC).
- Perform tasks within budget and schedule under supervision.
- Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
