About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves completing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final designs of new bridges and other structures. The engineer will perform structural analysis and design of bridge components in accordance with applicable codes and standards, and conduct analysis and rehabilitation design of existing bridges. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing engineering design calculations, design drawings, and technical specifications. The position requires coordination with project managers and senior engineers to ensure designs meet project requirements, budget, and schedule, and interpreting and applying federal and state design standards and guidelines to ensure regulatory compliance on publicly funded infrastructure projects. Telecommuting is permitted up to 3 days per week.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation, OR a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field of study with no experience.
Experience and skills can be gained in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently.

Preparation of construction cost estimates
CADD software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and OpenBridge
Design software including RCPIER, STAAD, and CsiBridge
Industry-standard Design Codes including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
Department of Transportation Design Requirements, including BD’s, BC’s, and DM-4
Department of Transportation Design Software, including PSLRFD, STLRFD, BXLRFD, and BPLRFD
Steel Girder Design and the AISC Steel Manual
Concrete Design and the ACI Manual

Responsibilities
