About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Denver, CO. This role involves preparing structural designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation structures such as bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures. The engineer will also perform load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure-type analysis evaluations using current engineering design software. This position requires performing specific and limited portions of broader assignments, gathering and correlating basic engineering data, and working on detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and tests. The role also includes proposing approaches to solve problems, identifying discrepancies, providing guidance to entry-level engineers, and performing work within budget and schedule with moderate supervision. Telecommuting is permitted up to 3 days per week.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation
Alternatively, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and no experience
Experience in Structural Bridge Design
Experience in Prestressed and Pretensioned Concrete Design
Experience in 3D Structural Modeling
Experience with RISA 3D
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with Bluebeam
Experience with AASHTO Design Standards
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates for transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures
Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure-type analysis evaluations
Use current engineering design software
Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
Work on detailed and routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests
Propose approaches to solve problems encountered
Identify discrepancies in results
Provide guidance to entry-level engineers
Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
