About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Denver, CO. This role involves preparing structural designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation structures such as bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures. The engineer will also provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure-type analysis evaluations. This position requires the use of current engineering design software and involves performing specific and limited portions of broader assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers. The role includes gathering and correlating basic engineering data, working on detailed and routine engineering assignments, proposing solutions to problems, identifying discrepancies, and providing guidance to entry-level engineers. The work is performed in accordance with budget and schedule with moderate supervision. Telecommuting is permitted up to 3 days per week.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.
Alternatively, a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and no experience.
Experience and skills can be gained in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships.
Skills may be gained concurrently.

Responsibilities

Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates for transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures
Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts, and structure-type analysis evaluations
Use current engineering design software
Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
Work on detailed and routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests
Propose approaches to solve problems encountered
Identify discrepancies in results
Provide guidance to entry-level engineers
Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
