About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Structural Engineer to provide modeling, analysis, and testing of dynamics loads and environments for space vehicles and hardware. The position is located in Redondo Beach, California, and may be filled at Level 2 or Level 3. This posting is for a candidate pool and does not represent a current opening; interested candidates may be considered for future positions as they become available. Travel is 10% of the time. Relocation assistance may be available. No clearance is required to start, though the candidate must be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance. The role involves developing structural dynamics designs and analyses using advanced numerical solutions; setting parameters for dynamics testing; monitoring tests and processing data; and correlating test results with model predictions. The engineer also prepares technical documents and presentations and applies professional judgment to collaborate and lead in a team, prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and analyze complex problems to develop innovative solutions. Level 2 candidates need a STEM bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience, or a STEM master's degree. Level 3 candidates need a STEM bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, a STEM master's degree and three years of relevant experience, or a STEM Ph.D. and one year of relevant experience. Both levels require experience with finite element analysis software and data-processing tools, experience in structural dynamic analysis and testing of aerospace hardware, and willingness and ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance. The stated primary-level salary range is $91,800 to $137,600. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus.
