About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural Engineer (PE) to join our team. This full-time position will be based in Rochester, MN. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing structural analysis and engineering calculations for a variety of commercial and institutional building projects. You will design structural systems using steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and masonry, and prepare all necessary construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation. This role also involves reviewing structural documents, conducting field observations and site inspections, and preparing technical reports. Collaboration with architects, project managers, contractors, owners, and other engineering teams is essential. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis or related discipline.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Strong knowledge of: Structural Analysis, Steel Design, Reinforced Concrete Design, Wood Design, Masonry Design, Mechanics of Materials.
  • Ability to prepare and review structural calculations, engineering reports, and construction documents.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with one or more of the following software: Revit, RAM Structural System, RISA, Enercalc.
  • Experience designing commercial and/or institutional buildings.
  • Strong background in structural analysis and building design.
  • Hands-on experience using Revit, RAM Structural System, RISA, and Enercalc.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Stable employment history with progressive engineering responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations for commercial and institutional building projects.
  • Design structural systems utilizing steel, reinforced concrete, wood, and masonry.
  • Prepare structural construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Review and interpret structural calculations, drawings, and design documents.
  • Conduct field observations and construction site inspections involving steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structural systems.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and technically accurate engineering reports.
  • Coordinate with architects, project managers, contractors, owners, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Engineers-in-Training (EITs).
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Support project planning, quality assurance, and successful project delivery.
