About The Position

Thornton Tomasetti’s Forensics practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions grounded in science and physics. As a Structural Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience investigating structural failures, damage, and performance issues across buildings, infrastructure, and specialty structures. You will work with professionals across disciplines in a collaborative environment and gain exposure to engineering solutions. The role includes supporting field investigations, structural evaluations, technical reporting, and the development of repair or mitigation solutions.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
• Strong academic record.
• Demonstrated interest in structural design and forensic problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in field investigations, document conditions, and collect data for analysis.
• Support structural evaluations using engineering tools and forensic methodologies.
• Help prepare technical reports and exhibits for clients and legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical repair or mitigation solutions.
