About The Position

As a Structural Engineer (Federal Department) Summer Intern at Black & Veatch in Overland Park, KS, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. Requirements

• No experience required.
• Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering program with a preferred emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Preference in coursework is at least 1 design course.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Support development of design specifications and contract drawings
• Perform variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs
• Prepare basic calculations
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling
• Organize and file project materials and references
