About The Position
Giffen Consulting Ltd. (Giffen) is looking to hire a Structural Drafter to join our growing team. We are looking for an individual to join us on a full-time basis in our Vancouver or Toronto office. This is a hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. This is an intermediate to senior-level position that offers lots of opportunities for career progression. Requirements
- A diploma in Structural Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Registered as an Applied Science Technologist in Canada or eligible to register.
- 3+ years progressive experience as a Structural Drafter on Mining / Heavy Industrial Projects.
- Familiarity with greenfield and brownfield mining open-pit and underground mining projects.
- Experience creating 2D and 3D drawings, plot plans, profiles, and details.
- AutoCAD is essential.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes.
- Ability to present project design and concepts to clients.
- Fluent with MS Office software.
Nice To Haves
- Advance Steel would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Produce detailed structural drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Autodesk Advance Steel.
- Prepare general arrangement drawings, detail drawings, and erection drawings for structural projects.
- Develop and maintain 3D structural models for mining and heavy industrial projects.
- Generate plans, elevations, sections, and details from structural models.
- Create and maintain drawing sets for review, approval, and construction.
