About The Position

ARCXIS is seeking a full-time Structural Designer to join its growing Houston office. The role involves producing structural designs and details for residential buildings under tight time constraints. The company is looking for an ambitious, reliable, hardworking self-starter who enjoys a challenge and can contribute to an energetic team environment, with potential for development and growth. Experience designing buildings with steel, wood, and concrete is preferred; experience working with mechanical systems and HVAC is a plus.

Requirements

• Excellent AutoCAD skills.
• At least 5 years of structural design experience in the building design industry.
• Experience in wood-framed construction.
• Understanding of building envelope requirements.
• Strong writing and grammar skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with architects, builders, and owners.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to multitask and run multiple projects concurrently.
• Willingness to work long days and weekends as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience designing buildings with steel, wood, and concrete.
• Familiarity with building codes.
• Experience working with mechanical systems and HVAC.
