About The Position

ARCXIS is seeking a full-time Structural Designer to join its growing Houston office. The role produces structural designs and details for residential buildings, often under tight time constraints. The successful candidate will be fluent in AutoCAD, reliable, hardworking, self-motivated, and comfortable with challenges. Prior experience designing buildings with steel, wood, and concrete is preferred; experience with mechanical systems and HVAC is a plus. The position offers the opportunity to work in an energetic team environment with potential for development and growth. The company supports residential construction and serves multi-family, multi-use, commercial, and existing residential sectors.

Requirements

Excellent AutoCAD skills.
At least 5 years of structural design experience in the building design industry.
Experience with wood-framed construction.
Understanding of building envelope requirements.
Strong writing and grammar skills.
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with architects, builders, and owners.
Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Willingness to work long days and weekends as required.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with building codes.
Prior experience designing buildings with steel, wood, and concrete.
Experience working with mechanical systems and HVAC.
