About The Position

The Structural EIT works independently on smaller projects and contributes as a team member on larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. The role performs structural analysis, design, and detailing for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems. It also supports coordination with architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines, construction administration, client communication, project delivery, and development of design standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• NCEES EIT required.
• Thorough understanding of structural engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas effectively.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of structural building codes and requirements.
• Basic understanding of Revit and its use as a drafting and design tool.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, component design software such as Enercalc, and finite element analysis software such as RISA and SAP.
• Experience with modeling software such as Autodesk Revit and general business software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building programs, and similar materials.
• Ability to collaborate in a project team and engage in creative and critical thought.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with architects, engineers, and owner clients.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations and drawings for small projects under a Senior Engineer’s guidance.
• Coordinate with architectural interiors and other engineering disciplines.
• Perform construction administration duties, including field observation reports, responses to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluation of contractor change orders.
• Perform calculations using company-standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and owner clients.
• Apply knowledge of industry-standard design processes and construction means and methods.
• Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with a high level of client service.
• Assist with development of design standards.
