Miro, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Structural Design Engineer Intern to join our team. This is a hands-on internship with exposure to a diverse range of projects nationwide, working alongside licensed engineers through design and construction phases. Interns at Miro contribute to live project work under the direction of a supervising engineer. Interns receive mentorship and feedback while collaborating with experienced professionals.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
  • Completion of foundational coursework in statics, mechanics of materials, and structural analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions, and eager to learn
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to commute to the work location where the Internship is based (Denver, CO)
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Rising senior, or graduate student pursuing an M.S. in Structural or Architectural Engineering
  • Coursework or project exposure to steel, concrete, masonry, or wood design
  • Interest in office, institutional, multi-family, parking structures, retail, health care, mixed-use, or light industrial project types
  • On track to sit for the FE exam

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing project documents, structural drawings, and specifications
  • Perform engineering calculations for structural components and systems under supervision
  • Assist with review of shop drawing submittments
  • Support the design team through design and construction phases, including RFI research
  • Participate in site visits during construction as project schedules allow
  • Attend project team meetings and internal design reviews
  • Prepares presentations
  • Performs research and special studies
  • Data entry
  • Other duties as assigned
