About The Position

Michael Baker International's National Integrative Design & Advisory team is seeking a Structural CADD Designer I in Waltham, Massachusetts. This role involves developing structural building models and creating design drawings and details for various building types using industry-standard software. The position emphasizes adherence to company standards, BIM modeling skills, and collaboration with the CADD lead. The role is part of a larger business vertical that integrates architecture, engineering, and advisory services for complex buildings and infrastructure programs across diverse markets.

Requirements

Two-year degree in technical drafting.
Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Bentley OpenBuildings, Bentley MicroStation, and MS Office.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in building drafting using structural steel and reinforced concrete.
Experience with facility design.

Responsibilities

Develop structural building models using Autodesk Revit and Bentley OpenBuildings.
Create 2D and 3D building and foundation design drawings and details for steel, concrete, and masonry buildings.
Develop structural building and foundation design drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD and Bentley Microstation in accordance with IDA Structural standards.
Provide backchecking of assigned work.
Work directly with the Structural CADD lead to ensure all methods, layers, line weights, symbols, and text meet IDA Structural standards.
Develop BIM 3D modeling skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.
