About The Position

Sentara Careplex Hospital is hiring a full-time Stroke Program Coordinator, RN for Nursing Administration. This role is responsible for the overall management of the hospital's stroke program in collaboration with the Stroke Medical Director. The coordinator will ensure the assessment, management, implementation, and evaluation of interventions required by accrediting agencies for disease-specific program certifications and CMS. This position requires knowledge of the standards of care for stroke patients and meeting annual educational requirements for certified stroke centers. Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a 224-bed acute care facility and a Certified Primary Stroke Center, offering specialized services in heart and vascular, urologic care, advanced diagnostics, and surgical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Registered Nursing Program - BSN (required)
  • Registered Nurse License or Compact/Multi-state license (required)
  • 3 years of Clinical Nursing Experience (required)
  • Provide clinical nursing, and technical knowledge, skills, and expertise required for the provision and continuity of comprehensive neurological and stroke patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Overall hospital stroke program management in collaboration with the Stroke Medical Director.
  • Ensure the assessment, management, implementation, and evaluation of interventions set forth by accrediting agencies for disease specific program certifications and CMS.
  • Perform functions in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations of the organization's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Be knowledgeable of the standards of care for stroke patients and meet annual educational requirements set forth by the System for certified stroke centers.
