About The Position

This position is expected to assist in the continual improvement and strengthening of the Master Finish Company plating processes by maintaining a clean (“metal free build-up”) rack system and properly adjusting plating racks for plating production departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Safety & Health Act and the regulations.
  • Report to his or her employer or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself, herself or another worker.
  • To ensure that no unauthorized people enter the company facilities. Verify that all doors are locked and lights, equipment, etc. are turned off when required.
  • Ensure that the building is a clean and safe workplace at all times.
  • Remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the regulations or by his or her employer, without providing an adequate temporary protective device and when the need for removing or making ineffective the protective device has ceased, the protective device shall be replaced immediately.
  • Use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger himself, herself or any other worker.
  • Engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement the ISO 14001 EMS and 9001 QMS policies as they pertain to the position, and perform internal audits of those policies and procedures
  • Maintain rack strip room, tanks, equipment, and stripping solution
  • Schedule and perform stripping of racks required
  • Understand chemicals and their uses in the stripping process
  • Communicate with plating production departments in all rack related issues as cleaning, adjusting, and advising when outside repairs are required
  • Operate job specific equipment
  • Move racks from active/in-active status as required (indoor storage / outdoor storage / shipping / etc.)
  • Perform Lock-out, Tag-out on necessary equipment
  • Fulfill all other duties as requested by Supervisor
