About The Position

The Strip Mill Operator blends and processes compounds through the mill and batch-off within allowable specifications. The role involves operating machinery safely and efficiently, monitoring production output to maintain quality, identifying product or process issues, and following compound processing procedures. The operator works with other staff members and performs additional duties as requested, directed, or assigned. The position is on second shift, 2:45 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Requirements

One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Attention to detail.
Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently.
Knowledge of general computer skills.
Close visual work is required.
Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.
Ability to perform the described rubber-stock lifting, pulling, and feeding tasks.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Blend and process compounds through the mill and batch-off within allowable specifications.
Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
Monitor production output to maintain quality control and identify product or process issues.
Cut rubber stock off the mill and lift it back up to band on the mill.
Pull rubber strips approximately 2 to 20 inches wide from the mill and feed them onto a take-off belt approximately three feet away, on a two-to-five-minute cycle.
Communicate with additional staff members.
Fill out the two-roll safety checklist.
Assist in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures.
Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
