About The Position

The City of Chino is hiring a part-time Streets Maintenance Worker to join their Public Works Department. Requirements

Knowledge of traffic laws and ordinances, techniques for street repair, asphalt patching, concrete mixing, traffic control, and safety.
Ability to properly operate loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, string trimmers, blowers, herbicide spray, and spray rig.
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
Three (3) years of relevant maintenance experience.
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, to be maintained throughout employment.
Possession of, or successful acquisition within twelve (12) months of employment, a valid CPR/First Aid Certificate, to be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

Repair and replace concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other concrete structures.
Repair and maintain City streets, alleys, and public right-of-way.
Operate tools and equipment such as rollers, dump trucks, backhoes, jack hammers, air compressors, and tractors.
Set up traffic control and safety zones.
Install and maintain street signs and street markings using equipment and tools such as a pneumatic drill, banding equipment, rivets, and paint sprayer.
Respond to debris in the roadway, perform weed abatement, and complete minor fence repair.
