About The Position

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is seeking qualified individuals to join their team as a Street Maintenance Senior Technician—CDL in the Street Sweeping division. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining a street-sweeping vehicle on arterial and residential streets in Chandler. The role involves driving and operating the street sweeper along designated routes, performing routine maintenance on the vehicle, and ensuring that streets, gutters, and public spaces are free of debris, litter, and other pollutants.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED.
2 years of experience as a City of Chandler Street Maintenance Technician - CDL or 3 years of experience in street maintenance or civil construction, including the use and operation of construction and heavy equipment.
Obtain and maintain a Maricopa County Dust Control Certification within one (1) year of hire or promotion.
Obtain and maintain a 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification within one (1) year of hire or promotion.
A valid Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record upon hire or promotion.
A Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement, with an acceptable driving record, within 6 months of hire or promotion.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
