About The Position

This position involves inspecting work areas to determine the type of work required, materials, and equipment needed. The role directs community service workers in various projects such as litter pickup, graffiti removal, and other group tasks as assigned by a Supervisor/Manager. The Street Cleaner I is responsible for interpreting company policies and enforcing safety regulations, as well as interpreting job orders and assigning duties to workers. This role also involves adjusting work procedures to meet production schedules, assisting workers with problem-solving, and motivating them to achieve work goals. Maintaining time and production records is also a key responsibility. The employee must adhere to the assigned schedule and the City's timekeeping and attendance policy, and maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and job requirements without interruption.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas Class C driver's license and good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous related experience or training preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Directs community service workers in projects such as picking up litter, painting/cleaning graffiti and other group projects as directed by the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Motivates workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Works the assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policy.
  • Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements.
