Do you know how to stop the scroll with a killer hook and turn breaking news into must-watch content across every screen? We’re looking for a Streaming Anchor / Digital & Social Content Creator to lead the charge from our state-of-the-art Streaming Studio at KOLN 10/11 in Lincoln.

Requirements

  • Confident on-camera presence : You’re calm, credible, and reliable under the pressure of breaking news.
  • Digital-first mindset: You live and breathe social media and understand exactly what works on each platform (and why).
  • Sharp news judgment: You can prioritize stories in real-time and know what matters most to our community.
  • Strong production chops: You have excellent writing and video editing skills, with a focus on speed, accuracy, and engagement.
  • Tech-savvy attitude: You’re comfortable troubleshooting technology and are always ready to learn the latest tools.
  • Flexibility and urgency: Quick on your feet and ready to jump into action when news breaks.

Responsibilities

  • Anchor live coverage: Lead breaking and developing news across all streaming platforms from our Alert Center (Streaming Studio) with urgency and authority.
  • Create platform-specific content: Design and produce high-energy content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, including those quick-paced vertical videos that grab attention.
  • Pivot with the news: Move fast as stories evolve, adjusting your coverage style and tone to match the platform and the gravity of the moment.
  • Collaborate across the newsroom: Partner with the assignment desk, reporters, and the digital team to ensure our coverage extends far beyond the traditional TV screen.
  • Own the digital space: Experiment with new formats and storytelling techniques to keep our audience engaged and informed in real-time.
